want some help

Post by D Pathak »

I am going to make a scenario based on Heightmap of Indian Subcotinent. India is a tropical country, so I first decided to make it in sub tropical climate. But the industries does not match their real counterparts as the main minerals in India are Coal, Iron Ore and Boxite. The fruit as well as rubber plantation is also obsolete. In addition there is no electrified rail. Now for temparate climate, there is till some limitation. I can not make the desert in Western part. I want suggetions and helps. Also about some new grf to make it looking more realistic.

look through industry sets (e.g. FIRS) and vehicle sets until you find one that suits your needs, then include them in your scenario.

If you just want to use temperate industries in desert climate, you can use OpenGFX+ Industries, which allow you to use the temperate industry chain in any climate. (and desert industries in temperate etc.)

That said, it may be wise to also look through what FIRS and other industry sets has to offer.

After some attempt I found that it is very difficult to make a realistic scenario with the whole Indian Subcontinent. So I decided to generate new heightmaps to make scenarios of different regions of India. Currently learning how to generate heighmaps.

Absolutely right. More the landscape has variation, worse the map is. I am trying to draw a map of South Bengal manualy. I think it would be far better than the heightmap. In the heightmap of Indian Subcontinent, almost whole Bengal is under Sea! :P
anyhow, another thing is needed so much. It is the town name grf. Also to make it more realistic, some grf for Indian Vehcles are needed.
Now I don't know grafics designe. If anyone can help by drawing these, I can provide informations.

you don't need a town name GRF if you manually place (and name) the towns on the heightmap. town name GRFs only help you if you place towns randomly.
