The build on-slopes feature is a greate thing, but untill now i never notiched a strange visual effect.
The roads/tracks build on-slopes function normaly and looks fine at the first view. But the stone used to fill-up the road or tracks are to low.
As long as you dont know it doesnt matter.....
Can this be improved

Next to a tunnel entrance it looks strange like an optical illusion

Here a road build on-slope, the thickness (height) of the road compaired with the slope beneath doesnt match but looks oke.

Just saw one more, the locks in the water, the walls hang over the water, look carfully and you ll notice that the ship is a little lower than the lock walls. to the right the lock on the land however look just fine.

Aha, but a tunnel entrance is more than 8 pix height
Wouldnt it be possible to create a sort of illusion by starting the "slopes" next to the track or road.
The tunnel entrances are just another optical illusion. Now we all know about the error in the foundations we all worry about it. You should've kept it to yourself ! I think fixing it can be done but would outbalance other optical illusions, such as the tunnel entrances.

... because the top of the tunnel mouth extends beyond the single-height level. I suppose this is one reason why we can't have bridges over tunnel portals - they're too high to bridge
