Hello.
I have been a fan of TTD since the late 1990's and started playing it again after learning about OpenTTD several years back.
One scenario I have become quite fond of is entitled "Africa" by RichK. For those unfamiliar with it, its a HUGE map of the African continent with parts of the Middle East and the Mediterranean. I have been playing this scenario off and on for the past 5 years and just recently hit the max number of trains limit. (428 I believe.)
Anyhow, I figured I would post this Game Save so others can enjoy it.
Notes:
- The scenario was configured with no disasters and a "production increase/decrease" level of 2x / -50%.
- Since the game state was built over the past several years, you will see various implementations of ideas I came-up over the years. Some good, some bad, some working incredibly well, and some I feel should be redone.
- I am particular proud of the rail network over northern, east and central Africa. The rail network around Saudi Arabia has been grossly congested.
- This is actually my second "try" at this scenario. In my first pass, the cities became too large and prevented further growth. I have been playing this second try (c. 2008) ever since.
- To prevent cities from consuming a huge amount of open space, the land around each city was "bought". The cities were then reshaped (slowly) to allow for controlled growth and better utilization of open space.
Let me know what you think.
