Custom Town Names

I apologize if this has been brought up in the past since various searches did not arrive at a definitive answer.

Also, I am going from memory at the moment and might have some terminology wrong too.

During the initial creation of the game with the choices of difficulty, I always had what appeared to be the ability to create a custom list of town names that would randomly be strewn across the map. Yet this option was always grayed out and thus upon starting a new game, I would go to each and every town and rename them to my liking. While the names given are alright, in my games, I feel much closer to overall status when town names I recognize are mentioned in reports. So my question - would it be possible to have a file with two to three dozen personalized town names for the computer to randomly draw upon when creating a new game?

That's for vehicle names.
You can make your own list with the translator, simply translate the text strings of the existing town names to ones you like.
I don't have the link for the program, search the forum for that.
