Heightmaps of Great Britian, Help

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, being new to the forum and all, so here goes and if it's in the wrong place can someone shift it to where it should be ta.

I tried to follow the instructions on how to make heightmaps and epic failure ensued, so I thought, hey there's loads of intelligent people out there who can do the programming stuff so why not just ask. I'd really love to have a map of Great Britain with all the major roads (especially the A6, with it in place I could put in my home town.) and cities in the right places. So I was wondering if there's someone out there who could help me out. I created a senario of my home town (which looks pretty naff), just using my own memory, but that's the best I can do.

You can download several GB heiught maps from bananas (the online content).
I didn't look at the scenarios, but perhaps GB is there too already.

Anyway, download it, and start adding roads would be my suggestion.

downloaded uk heightmap (v3.00) but it doesn't put towns/cities in the right places. i had a look at the thread in the forum and people are saying it's brilliant with london being huge etc. but i don't get any of that. any reason why?

Heightmaps are just that, ie a clean collection of heights at many points in the map.
Scenarios can have added things, such as roads, towns, etc (basically everything except a company).

Most likely they are playing a scenario.
Have a look in the scenarios at bananas, or try some search in the scenarios forum ( http://www.tt-forums.net/viewforum.php?f=60 ) ?
