Can't buy new trains anymore
I'm really confused... I just clicked a depot to create a new train, and they all dissapeared except a fairly s*** one. I tried reloading the game with no luck, and when I create a new one, several trains are avaliable What's wrong with my game

Type reset_engines into the console. It can be accessed by clicking and holding the ? button in the toolbar and finding "toggle console".

Did you use the cheat for changing the game year?
That's what I do/did. That's how I found out about the solution.

Re: Can't buy new trains anymore
you need to switch to electric tracks by clicking and holding the rail icon in the main toolbar, then converting the depot and the tracks. this way you will have more engines available. See here: http://wiki.openttd.org/Convert_rail
Re: Can't buy new trains anymore
The reason it happened (i think) is because the vehicles expired. I.E, There are no diesel or Steam locomotives made after a certain point in time and the ones that existed went out of date.
There is a setting in advanced settings. See Link <-
That and the console command works. Of course, you should never be completely out of vehicles... Especially at 2010.
You just have to build the right kind of track. You do this by holding the mouse button down on the track building icon. You can select normal track, electrified track, monorail and maglev. Each type becomes available as the first engine for that track is introduced.

Re: Can't buy new trains anymore
Oh ok ! In fact, I didn't remember (from classic TT) vehicles expired this way !
I gonna check that "vehicles never expire" thing, I'd like to stick to the old trains and tracks for now, I don't really like the look of the newer tracks !
Thanks !

Did you change the option such that vehicles never expire before using the console command?
