No Mac version available
I did a forum search looking for a reason for no Mac version (there used to be). I was able to find another site that has a current version compiled for OSX, however. Is there a reason that you can't even be bothered to link it from this site?
I'm hoping it's not stupid tribalism but the fact that the forum has been scrubbed of any discussion on this topic makes me less than optimistic.

If you really want people to reply to your question you shouldn't be so condescending towards those people / the community you address. It is even quite custom to start off on a friendly, less stuck-up way. The benefit of such friendlier approach is two-sided: the community doesn't consider you to be a jerk and you will most likely receive a constructive asnwer to your question (rather than my rant). Furthermore, it fits within the rules we have around on this forum.
I have no clue what search you used by the way. When I run a search on MacOS or Apple I do find a built for 1.0.5. That is, if you are looking for OpenTTD of course. And I think you do even though you posted in the wrong forum section. I hope this satisfies your demands but if not, rest assured that this rant satisfied mine.
Really looking forward to a better performance from you on our friendly forum.

Re: No Mac version available
Ubisububi, you were more than welcome to post the link as Terkhen just did... did you never consider that the reason none of us posted it is because none of us knew it existed?
If the person who ported it didn't tell anyone on the forum, how are the members of the forum meant to know? I've been looking for a recent OSX build for a while, if I'd stumbled across it I would've posted it.
Also, this isn't an OpenTTD forum, nor is it an official OpenTTD site. Most/all (I'm not sure which) of the OTTD admins are members of this forum, not all are massively active though - and the forum owners are nothing to do with OpenTTD other than being members of the same community. There's no partisan/tribalism about it, everyone gets on well. OpenTTD is one of the few projects I've seen without any major bickering. There's a few die-hards who prefer TTDP, but very little argument between them or forks of either project. (OTTD and TTDP are seperate projects, so there's no tension, just a little friendly rivalry)

Re: No Mac version available
Like other people have said, there are Mac versions available for download here on the forum and on the download-testing page.
That said, since most people go directly to the download-stable page and expect a Mac version, if it exists, to be there, perhaps it would be a good idea to add a short paragraph to that page saying something like:
For Mac OS X users: unfortunately, due to the lack of a dedicated OSX developer, we cannot offer a stable build for your system at this time. However, a build of the latest testing version can be found on the testing page.

Fair point. Might reduce number of times this question is asked.Dada wrote:That said, since most people go directly to the download-stable page and expect a Mac version, if it exists, to be there, perhaps it would be a good idea to add a short paragraph to that page saying something like:
