Making a game. Need help!

Post by Torahteen »

Hey everyone,

I am making a Transport Tycoon/Rollercoaster Tycoon clone so to speak and I need your help with graphics (I suck at drawing). Below is a list of graphics I need.

P.S. I would aprecciate it if they were not Copyright. :D
  • 1. Road graphics

    2. Tree graphics
This is all for now, I will update this soon. 8)

say...you know there are at least 3 other ttd clones in progress??

starting yet another one would be...useless. Instead, use your skills to decrease the developing time of the other ones.

I can swear that it will do not take long to drop the project, since there are 4-6 (or even 10) TT like projects
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

I agree with spaceman-spiff. I'm a non-commercial (games)programmer myself, and I don't really care if a game already is being cloned. For me, programming is all about the fun. It's like painting, there are a lot of paintings of tree's out there, but why does the painter makes them? Because he have fun of it, he can put a feeling in it. Programming is the same, at least for me it is.

There is a distinct difference between coding a fully-functional transport game and painting a tree.

They are two completely different skills. You can't compare one to the other in equal terms.

So what's the status with these TT clones?

I've recently rediscovered TT (having played it lots when it came out), and I'm curious about these new versions being developed. All the ones I can find have websites that haven't been updated for months, even years! I must admit, I'm interested in writing a TT clone, although I'll probably start it and then get bored quite quickly, so I'd rather not start helping someone else's project and never get around to finishing what I was working on :)

[edit]Oops, found the 3DTT thread. My bad![/edit]

since nobody else wantet to join me yet: jes. I would release the source the second someone shows interest. (keepeing the code public is a lot of work and time consuming (28,8) modem, and useless when you are the only person working on it)
