the strange the funny and the wonderful

Heres just a couple of clips I found and thought I'd share

Now I've heard of transport companies laying on services to the local supermarket but I think this is unbelieveable.

I think theres still some room on this train for a few more people.

As a kid I use to love my summer holidays down on the south east coast of England, being from London way it was such a big difference, but there was 1 thing that I enjoyed most down there. It wasn't the sandy beach and the sea, it wasn't the little amusement park or the candy floss and it defferently wan't the guided tour of a power station my Dad insisted we did ever year (He's a bit of a mad scientist). It was the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

It was the first steam trains I had ever seen (Apart from in books), now I know they are mini steam engines but when you're 9yo they are amazing, plus there is the biggest trainset I have ever seen in the Romney station.

The RH&DR is simply legendary, I remember visiting it first when I was 9 too! Every summer I promise myself that I'll visit, and every summer I erm don't get round to it, especially since I'm now old enough to drink in the observation car thingy. Gotta go this year! Dammit!

It hasn't changed much. I went past it last year but I didn't have the time to go down onto the platform. It was always the highlight of my summer. Apart from one year when we was staying in a camp site near New Romney, my dad treated us to to trip all the way to the twin light houses at dungness. I was thrilled til it was time to go back and dad said he only bought single tickets  at 10yo it's a long walk back

Couple of accidents on LCs there in recent years have tainted it, somewhat, but it's still a beautiful little line (not that it's the railway's fault, of course).
