All vehicles breakdown

All vehicles breakdown
I've looked in the FAQ but have been unable to find the answer to this very irritating problem.
If I create any vehicle in any scenario and set it on its way, its reliability decreases by 1% roughly every 3 seconds (using the fast forward button just makes it shoot down). As you can guess, any vehicles I create are lucky to make one journey before breaking down. They still breakdown even if I set no breakdowns in the custom difficulty menu. This means after a minute or two any new vehicle breaks down constantly.
I can't play any games with Open TTD with this problem (especially West Country from the original TTD which I'd love to play again), so any help would be appreciated.

Sure.
While the problem still persists, I just noticed that the reliability gets boosted by ~30% whenever the train enters the depot. This is still a major problems for massive maglev journeys and the like.

Are you sure, you disabled the breakdowns from ingame? Or did you change the setting in OpenTTD main menu? That is a big difference. Changes to settings from main menu won't be applied to an existing savegame. I did it from the main menu originally so I just tried it ingame and it worked.

You're welcome. In fact, I did the same 'mistake' years ago when I started playing OpenTTD
