reading sprites.txt i found a few not so clear things:
in action 0:
what is default cargotype 0c as used in the example action 0 entry? in the list at the end it is not mentioned , at least not to be used with action 0
how is the climate bitmask (action 0 property 06) used?
what is the Sprite ID? (action 0 prop 12 on trains) Is it the vehicle ID of the vehicle, whose sprites are used instead of new ones?
everything refers to sprites.txt of 20th August 2003

Congratulations. You have managed to understand much more of this file than I can make out. Even if it is does use a high standard of written English. "TTD Sprites Made Simple" The guy who writes that book will be a millionaire.
