Can you also post how you got it working? That may help other users that have the same problem.

Slow connection causes a blank content screen. It will work eventually.

I have a good net connection (and enabled ottd in firewall) but still the in-game download can't connect.
Also, I don't know how to run downloaded AIs. I tried creating the directory openttd/content_download and its subdirs /ai and /ai/library and placing the files there (as mentioned elsewhere in forums), but still the ingame menu doesn't see them.

There is absolutely *nothing* about it in the wiki or readme, they all say "use the ingame download", well they should say what if it doesn't work.

It also doesn't say what to do with .tar files (one topic mentioned you don't need to unpack them now but maybe it was for the linux version only?)

This seems to be a major problem in OTTD, that when something new is created, there's no description of it (happened earlier often).

We have written something about the problem in the readme: http://vcs.openttd.org/svn/browser/bran ... 17500#L195

If it isn't clear please do not come with "it isn't clear" because we don't know what isn't clear. Tell exactly what isn't clear and maybe we can then explain it and you can help improving the readme and the wiki.

The major problem for us developers in writing documentation is that we have no clue what you users do and don't understand. So again, if it is unclear ask specific questions and help us improve the documentation instead of saying that the developers have to do it. The developers already have a hard enough time extracting enough information from users when they find something they think is a bug.

On a related note, do bugs in bananas belong in the bug database or should they be reported elsewhere?

They should go to the 'website' project on the bug tracker, which has a category for bananas.

Thx, now it works (downloading still doesn't). (Somehow last time I messed up something with creating the AI subdirectory, but now it's okay).

For your other concern, my memory is unfortunately shallow, but next time I find undocumented new stuff that I don't understand, I'll let you know.
