OpenTTD 0.7.1

Post by Rubidium »

Hello,
today we released 0.7.1 which brings you a bunch of bug fixes and NoAI API improvements that should make the AIs a bit better. It is released a bit later than we expected/hoped/aimed for, but it's better to wait to get some important bugs fixed than releasing it on a specific date. Ofcourse it would have been fun to release it on June 1st, which for Christians is known as WITH!!! Monday.

Anyhow, as usual you can download it from our website. There you can also see the full changelog since 0.7.0, which is quite big but consist primarily of small inconsistency fixes and extensions to the NoAI framework.

I have been following the backporting reports on the changelogs and have marveled at the dedication and perseverance that has gone into this release. Congratulations on a job well done Rubidium. Many thanks to you and to all of the Developers for their combined time and efforts.

Funny. When I type that word, it comes out with five bangs, not three. :p
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Thank you very much! I have been playing the original TTD some years ago, and loved it!
A few weeks ago I stumbled over OpenTTD and what can I say... I LOVE IT EVEN MORE!

Thank you, thank you! Great work, indeed.

Is there a way to force OpenTTD to save data elsewhere than in default Documents location? I'd like it not to create new folders somewhere else than where the game actually is stored.

A file, usually distributed with OpenTTD, called 'readme.txt' gives a break down how the location stuff works. If you apply a bit of logic it should be easy to deduce what you have to do to make OpenTTD favour the directory of the binary over your personal/home directory.
