Hi Guys. I'm new with the game, only about a week, so please excuse me if this question has been answered before.
In my current game I've stumbled upon an annoying matter with replacing a batch of buses, but I guess the same problem exists with other types of vehicles as well.
The buses are grouped by the periods I've purchased them, and I have 4 groups of about 25 buses each. In the year 2003 time came to replace the first group of buses (currently Foster bus). The next model of buses is due to appear only in 2008, so logically I would have to replace the current buses for buses of the same type.
It seems that the group batch replacing tool insists of replacing only with buses of newer type, not allowing me to replace all the group 1 buses to buses of the same type.
I did, however, manage to downgrade all the buses (all 4 groups of them) to the previous model, using the batch replace tool for all groups and not for one particular group, being the only solution I found for having the buses run until 2008 without having to replace each one manually.
So, is there something I'm missing here? How do I simply replace a group of vehicles with similar vehicles of exactly the same type?
Thanks,
Replacing a batch of vehicles

Re: Replacing a batch of vehicles
Turn on autorenew.

Sounds logical enough..Rubidium wrote:Turn on autorenew.

Will it also auto-upgrade to newer models when those appear?
Re: Replacing a batch of vehicles
Yes autorenew is the only way to do it afaik.
I've often wondered if its possible to renew automatically earlier than 12 months prior to expiry.
Sometimes a train expires and you want to renew them all just one month before they stop making them so you can hang onto them a bit longer. Especially if a newer model (that's good for that particular purpose) won't come out for a while.
Furthermore in some sets such as NARS new models of the same train with the same ID come out. If you want to play with these, you need to renew them manually which is more than tedious when you have 300 or 400 trains.
