I´ve got Duke Nukem 3D Atomic (I´m a master at that) and Doom 2 (I´m good at that). I make my own levels and episodes for Duke Nukem 3D but none of those games work on Windows XP ;( DAM YOU BILL GATES!
Thanks,
Adam Reece.

i already found D3D on http://www.abandonware-france.org/
and it runs nicely under Win XP, even music and sounds are ok
So until the beta 1.9.3 is available, i will duke some more

woot, woot, i found doom 2 and with doom 95 it runs smoothly, sound and music are great
ah, the chainsaw, the double barreled shotgun, the sound when a barrel explodes and rips apart my enemies, the imps, just played 2 first levels at very hard setting

hope i can sleep tonight

thank god for the internet :))

Thanks for the link, I took off the "-france" so an english version showed up.

How do you get those games to run on Windows XP? On my computer, they run perfectly if I don´t use any WAVE Sound Effects, MIDI is always fine but when I turn on the WAVE Sound Effects (SoundBlaster 16) it jerks A LOT.
Thanks,
Adam Reece.

i also have the soundblaster 16 setting, and indeed it´s not 100 %, let´s say 70 % perfect
that´s fine by me
i wouldn´t no how to get it better under XP
Doom 2 is perfect because it has a win 95 ´layer´ , is this how you call it ?

70%? More like 40%!

Yes, the compatibility options are called compatibility layers. Eg, Windows 95 Layer, Windows 98/ME Layer, etc.
Thanks,
Adam Reece.

Wanna play Doom?
You really should download Doom Legacy!
Make sure you have Doom1/2 wad files. Or your own wad file!

I can play MS-DOS games now because I've gone back to Windows 98SE because SOMEONE told Microsoft I had an illegal Windows XP.

If you (not necessarily you personally, but someone) is using a... not entirely legal version of XP, and XP SP1 refuses to install, you can change the product key. PM me for details.
