TTDX not creating more than one bank in the whole game.

Post by Telman36 »

Hi

I just downloaded the new alpha patch 49. I think i have found a bug but let you decide.

Since i pass 1990, Banks were being created in multiple cities, but now only one bank is available at any onetime.

The game says that a new bank is being built in a city, but when i goe to look at it, it has disappeared.

In this game i am playing at the moment, there is only one bank in the city of Pentwood. :(

Have a look and see in my saved game.

Sounds like the remove-industries feature. The cities are now allowed to replace industries (incl. banks) with house. Also competitors can remove any industry they want. So can you.

To disable this, open ttdpatch.cfg and find the line "morebuildoptions x". If it was "on", change it to "morebuildoptions 15". If it had a number, subtract 16 from that number, e.g. change 31 to 15.

That way, the "remove industries" feature of morebuildoptions is disabled.

I can't say I particularly like the Ctrl key, it doesn't work in multiplayer.

Just the human check should be fine, and this feature should be disabled by default (which it is now). There's no real need to require the Ctrl key as well. I'll probably just get rid of that piece of the code when I integrate it tonight.

No No, you have to uncomment the other only, but if you level terrain industries get removed too, so maybe the ctrl would be better...

That was just the problem, levelling ground and accidentily removing industries

Perhaps just with the dynamite or bulldozer button if ctrl puts problems on MP

Thanks for the answer guys.

I was unaware of the new remove-industries feature. I am not sure I understand how to disable this as i use the TTDX Configurator program to set options for TTD Patch.

I think it adds value to have this option, but should the town be building houses at such a rate that it builds over the bank almost immediatley?

Shouldn't there at be least a check to see that the minimum of two banks should be available at all times instead?

Also, what does the "Just the human check should be fine" statement mean? It is in Patchman's reply?

Thanks again, and i await your reply. :)

He means that we should be aware of what we're doing, why build in numerous tests or control keys if we can check/see for ourselves what we are doing
Do you understand ???
Hard to explain this :!:

TTD has a space in memory that keeps track of whether each player is a human player or computer player. TTDPatch can access this space, and check to make sure it's a human player who's trying to dynamite / build over the industry.

And I agree, having it only work with the dynamite tool would be better than putting in yet another thing that uses Ctrl.
