Japanese Locomotives

Post by Supermint »

One thing I noticed lacking in Locomotion is Japanese Locomotives and cars. I know there are 2 different bullet trains (00 series by the almighty chris himself and an 800 series someone else can't remember who did)
Does anyone know where I can get these items or it would be intresting to have them as a project. I cant make locos for squat.
Thanks for the help.
Some good info can be found on http://www.katomodels.com/index_e.shtml
The site supplies n-scale models. Im buiding a set myself using the stuff :D

I know there is an import of the Kuju made models for MSTS of the KIHA 31 & 140. Plus, I'm working on some japanese commuter trainsets.

Thanks WTTPSCS. I would also love to see some Japanese freight engines. with Japanese wagons.
If anyone is willing to build these I will provide pictures of the wagons/engines as I have a few of them as models now.

If you have 3-d models I can create lots of trains but, I also need the specs. I'll need the models in Kuju shape file(.s) or .3ds file format. (If you have both availble, I love to have both. ) However, I am not (unfortunately...) a 3-d modeler, so I can't make the models. (unless if you want an industrial/water tank for Trainz... )

The stuff i need (other than the shape)
  • Name
  • Horsepower
  • Maxium speed
  • Weight (in US tons)
  • Cargo capsidy
  • Date avilable
  • Date obslete
  • Some photos

I'll start the development topic soon, in the next week or two. I'll have some photos posted there.

Here's a Shinkansen JR500 I downloaded a while back, unfortunately it's the only Shinkansen I could find there (don't know about other Japanese trains). Be warned though, the carriages are scaled realistically, so they're quite a bit longer than vanilla LoMo locs/carriages!

Maybe ask one of the creators that could make something from photos.

All I have are the Series 0 and the JR500, do you have links to others? I LOVE the Shinkansen trains, but I haven't been able to find any others (besides the ones I mentioned) for LoMo.

Don't know, mabe an older member of the forum (older means they been here longer) would know who to ask. But don't forget the golden rule: "Be nice or it will come back to get you."
Plus, I noted that the some moderators seem to be tense, I guess some new people aren't even reading the rules & gudelines and abiding by them...

A good idea. I found Locomotion-fanpage that way, and another site. (Oh, if I could remember...)
