Does that mean the privatization process is now officially completed?

And have all the stations been rebranded? I swear one or two such as the Chiltern Railways and Bromsgrove still displayed Regional Railways liveries on the signs.

There are many stations still bearing RR station signs. It's going to be a long time before they disappear.

Edit: MY EYES! http://modernrailways.fotopic.net/p51477342.html but RR is not gone. Yet. 153326 still remains in RR livery.

I don't know - the old girl looks very fetching in those EMT colours.

Time for Andel to start the 153311 Preservation Society to raise funds to buy her when she's withdrawn, then repaint her to RR colours.

In the future they will repaint one back to RR livery as evidence of its history, it could be in a museum or run on a persevered line.

Certain preserved railways run old DMUs, who's not to say that in the future you will find Class 142s, 150s and 153s doing the same. Theres always hope

Course if someone wants to go ahead and make a Class 153 (Class 150 etc.) Preservation Society, go right ahead no arguments here, people of the future get to see trains that we traveled on in the past 15-20 years. Its History.

Funnily enough there are a few 14xs in preservation - the Weardale Railway has at least one class 141, while I believe the Keith and Dufftown railway has a couple of 142s or 143s possibly. They work ok on preserved lines, because they have big windows to give all round vision of the nice scenery, and the ride isn't too rocky at preserved line speeds. No 15xs are as yet preserved to my knowledge, but when they are it will genuinely make me feel old!

The 142s are awful on the mainline, they rock about all over the place. My dad likes to call them the Nodding Dog Train becasue they seem to nod up and down, up and down, up and down, up........

142/3/4s are known as Nodding Donkeys.... there is a 141 at Colne Valley too... there are no other second generation 14x series trains in preservation at the moment, though.

I'd love to see 153311 preserved somewhere that she can trundle along happily all day. Old Dalby?

I agree on the white colouring, its rather naff and looks cheap to me, as for the blue/yellow/red combo, I quite like it.

I was down at Waterloo yesterday and I quite liked all the Stagecoach colours. I'm even beginning to like the red metro livery, and SWT have certainly done a good job with the 455 refurbishments! Although it's a bit odd to be constantly reminded that there's a CCTV camera every 5m hung from the ceiling...

I never did like any BR livery - personally I prefer every privatised livery that's come along since, with the exception of Anglia. My favourite station sign branding I think goes to WAGN. Worst goes to... 'one'.

Load-Haul livery is teh sex - it makes those 37s look positively erotic

Although the best ever 37 livery is that of the police train!
