Hi,

A great place to start is the GRF Crawler, where you'll find many cool graphic patches.

Have fun! :D

Put the grf files in the [openttd installation folder]/data/ folder
Then activate via the "NewGRF Settings" menu

Now now, don't say that. Actualy a lot of people don't know this stuff since they (just like you) haven't ever tried to use the graphics.
Anyways enjoy it.
I would recommend finding "Stolen" trees grf it makes the trees so much more beautiful!
For trainsets i'd recommend UK Renewal Set v3 Linky It's simply wonderful
