Electric Trains not showing up

Post by Enviro »

I received a message along the bottom to say that an electric train was released, but when I go to my depot to try to buy one, it isn't there. Two electric trains have been released, and other companies are using them.

I'm using 0.5.3.

Also, how do I make the music work? I have the original TTDX disk.

You need to electrify your railway (and depot) so you can run electric trains. If you click and hold the track building button, you'll find there are a couple of track types. Click on electrified railway and then select the convert rail option. Drag it over your non electrified track and hey presto, you can now run electric trains on it.

About music... have you copied the GM folder from TTDX? And which OS are you using? In Windows it should just play (if you provide OpenTTD with the GM folder). If you use a GNU/Linux OS, than you should install timidity player.
