New features from TTDpatch

Post by kyanit »

Hi. I am new to openTTD, and also I am too lazy to read all forums here. So sorry me about my questions.

I used to play TTDpatch, but now it seems that openTTD is much more "alive", and looks much more better than about one year ago, airports, system of construction,... is amazing. But, I miss some ttdpatch features here and want to ask, if it is in plan to do this or alread it is making on it or no..:

- PBS (path base signalling)
- crossing tunnels (why this is not possible while diagonal rails under bridges are..?)
- rails just upon the tunnel
- rivers (like this http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=31817)

nope, it was available in the last "MiniIN" version, but that was discontinued and now is very outdated. afaik at the moment no one is working for a PBS implementation on the new Pathfinder.
- crossing tunnels (why this is not possible while diagonal rails under bridges are..?)
that is possible, but only if you activate it in the "cheat menu" (press CTRL+ALT+C). Thus, only in single player mode.
It is considered a cheat, because you can make very short crossing tunnels with it, which is not really realistic.
- rails just upon the tunnel
not done yet, don't know if someone is working on this though
i think someone made a patch in this direction, high level sea patch or something. not sure about its status though.
* @Belugas wonders what is worst... a mom or a wife...
<Lakie> Well, they do the same thing but the code is different.

Hi. I am old here, and am too lazy to waste my time helping something that can't help itself.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

I've not been here as long as Dalestan, but i'd say that i do think alike. Laziness kills. And stinks
If you are not ready to work a bit for your ideas, it means they don't count much for you.
OpenTTD and Realism? Well... Here are a few thoughs on the matter.

I'm lazy as well, but I've learned one thing... never admit it openly...

it is the same on every forum. A few "masters" scorch every possibly stupid question. Lazy can also mean "I have no time for reading 1000000 posts in forums". When you are so touched by my questions, why don´t you just ignore it?....
