Train delay in stations?
Train delay in stations?
I've searched the forum and couldn't find a topic about it, I just wanted to ask how come seperate trains stay in stations for different amounts of time (ofcourse they do not have any of th Load/Unload functions turned on). I thought maybe it's the wagon size, cuz one tiny-two-coal-vagon train immeadiatly jumps out of the station just after it receives some coal and here this massive two-end 4-passenger-car train stays in the station for about a min... and his cargo price drops to about 50% of normal when he finaly decides to move his bottom. Does anyone know what this attribute depends on?

It has always been like this. The more cargo a train has got to load/unload, the longer it takes.Kuraido wrote:I've searched the forum and couldn't find a topic about it, I just wanted to ask how come seperate trains stay in stations for different amounts of time (ofcourse they do not have any of th Load/Unload functions turned on). If you play with TTDPatch, there are two switches which alter the behavior of cargo loading/unloading: Gradual Loading and New load/unload time calculation

Re: Train delay in stations?
It's not exactly that, my train DOES NOT MOVE OUT of the station even if he has a FULL CARGO for about 30 seconds or so.. He loads cargo pretty fast, but once he gets it he stays some time in the station for no reason at all
Re: Train delay in stations?
This happened to me too - train was "mysteriously" watnig for some time adfter it was loaded and I later found that I had some forgotten times set up by autofill in timetabling ... Did you turn timetabling on? Did you specify some waiting time in station? (autofill will do that ...) If yes, train will wait until the time specified to wait elapses...
I think when waiting due to timetable the train have still Loading/Unloading in statusbar, but I think better would be something like "Timetable: waiting for X more days"

If you need something, do it yourself or it will be never done.

Re: Train delay in stations?
First off, please specify which game you're using (TTD/TTDPatch/OpenTTD). I mentioned TTDPatch switches, Bilbo is talking about OpenTTD.
But maybe it's a different reason. Does the train fit completely into the station? If not, TTD increases the loading time significantly to simulate the train's need to stop again for the "overhanging" coaches to be loaded/unloaded.
