OpenTTD 32bpp Font

Post by JamieLei »

I've had a quick search and no-one's suggested this yet.
Which font should OpenTTD 32bpp globally use? Personally I hate the font the current OpenTTD uses. I suggest the DejaVu font and its derivatives; they are almost identical to the default Sans font used in Ubuntu (and GNOME?) and can handle all Western and Cyrillic characters. Any other ideas?

font determines a lot of the style of the game. I personally like the current font, it would be nice if a 32bpp version could be made of the original font.

i agree, although the current font looks very official and I don't think it would look good with the 32bpp graphics. either that or allow a customised font to be used as current with chinese.

I know what you mean about the style of the game; one of the major flaws of Locomotion is the overuse of Comic Sans which ruins the feel. On the other hand SimCity 4 works very well by using its own font.

Since 0.5.0 you have been able to choose a font to use.

...and that certainly isn't Comic Sans in Locomotion.
He's like, some kind of OpenTTD developer.
