For those of you who did not see it the first time round or for those who just ignored it - here's my UD pitch again.

UD - or the United Devices Global Metaprocessor - needs YOU. All this project asks is that you download a small program and run it on your computer. It uses your computer's idle processes so doesn't affect the running of any other applications. And if you are seriously worried about its possible effect on other programs you can choose for it to only run as a screensaver or schedule the times that you allow it to run.

So what does it do? Current projects are looking into development of cancer fighting drugs and the PatriotGrid project looking for drugs for various bio-terrorist threats.

How does this affect me? Cancer affects 1 in 4 people. That means you or someone close to you could very easily benefit from the work that this project is doing. And as so the PatriotGrid project - who knows. With the war in Iraq and other current terrorist threats this project could (God forbid) affect every single one of us in the event on biological disaster.

So please, take the time to download the program and leave it to run. There's no need ot be constantly connected to the internet , you don't need to have your computer on all the time. Just the time when your computer is not in intensive use (most of the time really) and of course every little helps.

As withg the SETI client, please don't install on your work computers without Administrative approval, or you may find you get thrashed to 1 inch of your life by a systems administrator.

I think c e 3 2 0 just meant that he'd expect you to 'tell SGWebmaster off', but I for one think that it's a very worthwhile cause, especially for anyone not yet on SETI.

No, it's just like SETI - just look at it and admire the pretty molecule things. That is of course once you've done the initial registration

I'm not sure to be honest. I'm the only one that uses my computer so I don't bother with other profiles so I've never found out.

Yep, I haven't done anything useful for a few days now, so I had to change that! I take it that it takes a long time to register a % yeah?

In the information window (the i in the circle button) it shows the number of ligands. As each ligand completes it increments the percentage indicator on the first window. Cancer research ligands usually take me about 30 mins each whereas the smallpox ones usually take less than 5 mins each.
