Hello everyone!
I have a weird issue with my TTD. I've been playing for years now, but this...
OK, this is the score:
I formatted my disk, reinstalled XP and now am setting up TTD. Meaning, this install of the program never worked properly before. The original TTD does work when adapted for XP.
I have TTDPatch 2.5 beta 9 and use Andrés Zsögön's Configurator as control program. I used default switches + new vehicles switch. I then added the magnificent DBXL set for W and the (aparently necessary) ttdpbasew.grf. I then ran the game and it gave me [ File "newgrf/DBSETXLW.GRF" has invalid sprite #42 (code 24/5) ] or
# DB Set V0.82 (XL) 05.05.05
newgrf/DBSETXLW.GRF

# ”File "newgrf/DBSETXLW.GRF" has invalid sprite #42 (code 24/5).
in debug mode, both with and without (removed from disk) the ttdpbase file.
I'm really at a loss here, anyone an Idea? I'd really appreciate a fix... I found only one reference to a similar problem by a very naughty bou who subequently got himself banned. Which unfortunately doesn't solve my problem ^_^

Turn off experimentalfeatures.madatorygrm in your ttdpatch.cfg file.
The best way to do this is with notepad, because the configurator messes things up.
Delete your ttdpatch.cfg file, created by the configurator (or rename it) and then run the patch, it will create a new default ttdpatch.cfg file.
