Road Railroad intersection train crashes vehicles

The topic says it all.
I have railroad and road intersection.When a trains is passin the vehicles wait for it to pass but when a vehicle is passing the train justs crashes them and i lose my vehicle is there a way to prevent this?
Currently i have to make a bridge to prevent it

Placing bridges is the only way, however you can also configure the pathfinder to avoid those level rail crossings like the plague.

Depending on the pathfinder you use, increase road_crossing_penalty (YAPF) or npf_crossing_penalty (NPF) to something large like 100000. This will make it very unlikely for road vehicles to cross rail using level crossings, as they will take almost any bridge/tunnel route to the destination it can find.

Longer term, it would be nice if a multitrack crossing could show red all the way through when any one track is in use, instead of (as happens now) only showing red for the specific track(s).
