Help a newb out :)

Post by Krezni »

Hi there!

Been playing TTD before (got it like in -96 on 12 floppys or something ;) ) and hav recently begun playing again. The great is fun as hell and i decided to crawl some forums for some tips on how to play and build.

And what did i see, massive stations, ive always build point to point before and havent quite yet grabbed the concept of many trains on same lines.

Anyways i gave it a shoot, and the result can u see in the picture included.
Though, it doesnt work out that great, all 3 trains sometimes gridlock before the powerplant junction. How can i solve this?

Also, is there any newb guides on how to use signals? I've only found guides on different junctions, but hasn't really seen any real use of them.

Last question, how do i increase a industrys production the best way? Shall i build 2, 3, 4, 10 trains in the start etc?

Hope i can get some answers :)

Just wondering, but you have plenty of space to have dual tracks...why have this single track thing then?

Use one way signals instead of two-way ones. Now trains can only choose one part of the lane, so they won't ever meet each other head-to-head.

Without some advanced signals (presignals) a single, duplex line with passing sidings can only handle a maximum of three trains, whether or not you use one way signals.

In any case, Krezni would do well to read the following.
