On large maps, there are so many news messages that not all can be displayed. For accidents and disasters, it is crucial than you know about it as soon as possible to "fix" the problem. If you don't know about a vehicle crash, you may not be able to replace it in time, since crashed vehicles may disappear before the news message is displayed.
I wrote a little patch that addresses this issue. It adds an option to the message settings window by which you can enable immediate showing of messages about accidents and disasters. If you enable this option, you can immediately replace a crashed vehicle before it disappears and its orders are lost. Also for some disasters (e.g., UFOs) it may be useful.
There are two versions, one for merging against trunk, and one against MiniIN.

It's not so brilliant that it was "lost" with the death of MiniIN.
Here is a new trunk version.

No, you are not the one to blame. No one is.
The patch was not really lost (codewise) — hence the quotation marks; currently there is just no version which has the patch included, which is a pity since it is so useful (i.e., it takes away a large annoyance when playing on large maps).
Because there is already a window called "Messages history" that does this job perfectly.WX6 wrote:Why not make a patch that lists all the messages displayed, sorta like a mailbox or something?
