language problem in linux

Post by xcraft »

Hi,

I use gentoo and i installed openttd from portage. Put the necessary files to data directory and game works just fine. My problem is about turkish.lng file. I put this file into the /usr/share/local/openttd/lang directory but when i start the game i can't see turkish option in options.

Is there a trick to add a language in linux?

Thanks

Maybe you did not add the correct turkish language file into the lang directory so turkish is missing in the language list. Replace the turkish.lng by the right one, from the packed archive you've downloaded or from the lang directory, if you compile openttd yourself.

Language files are very sensitive to which version they belong to. A 0.4.0.1 language file will not work with a 0.4.7 openttd. So make sure the versions match.
