Hello all!
I have recently completed a scenario based on the towns and industries of the Merseyside area of England. The scenario itself has no real goal although I have provided a target of a couple of 10's of millions of pounds; rather, my aim was to produce a map that lent itself to complex and pretty railwaylines, such as the ones that characterise Merseysides rich history of rail transport. I have tried to make the map as accurate as posible, with respective towns and industries corresponing to their actual position on the map. Even so, I allowed myslef a little creative license to facilitate smooth and anoyance free gaming.
As for the vehicals in this game, they are rich and varied and include many from various mod's I found lying around the various Loco fan sites, forums etc. I realise that most people won't have the mod's necessary to play this game so I have provided the scenario file too; this way you can load senario up, choose the vehicals you want to include and get on with providing transport for the good people of the Wirral peninsular!
I have played this senario myself up to 2009 or so and everything seems to work perfectly, even so I would just like to say it may be a good idea to have loco mod close by when playing this map; experienced Loco gamers may notice that some of the trains are missing their corresponding trucks, passenger carriages etc. This is because I am lazy and the map was already steadily eating away at the amount of daylight I saw each day. Also, I dream about this game when I go to bed (Is this normal?) so I think its time I rejoined the human race.
On a side note i would just like to say how rubbish this game is! Without the mods available it wouldn't be worth the gig or so it takes up on my hard disk. The basics are already there, and with a bit more imagination, interesting graphics and user friendliness (why, oh why do you have destroy every bulding in a town just to add another station to an underground network and why no container ferries, bus/train links to airports. The list goes on!) it could be a game worth to succeed TTDX.
Hope everybody enjoyes this map as much as i enjoyed making it.
