Hi!

I've been playing TT and TTD ever since it was released sometime in the 90's. And you guys have worked wonders with. Thank You very much for extending the game to what it is today!

And now to my question - I've looked around the board for a few hours without finding any way to change the cargo for a plane to other than the default. Ie a plane can carry passangers, mail, valuable, goods aso. I've seen (actually downloaded a saved game) where the planes cargo is oil. Now I wonder, how will I be able to accomplish this in my OTTD v4415. Any carge for a plane would be preferable (esp. coal).

I'm sorry if this topic has been up earlier, but I couldn't find anything.

Last I checked, the Planeset does as you desire.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

I've planesetw_459.grf installed. It does change (all) the planes. But cargo options stay the same. There is no possibilites to rebuilt the plane to do other freight that the usual ones. Maybe I'm missing out on something. I have to find that savegame again and have a look. Also I loaded the savegame without the planeset grf file.

Just tried it on OTTD v 0.4.0.1 on my other PC. Same result. Graphic changed but freight options stayed the same. Tried the planesetw.grf (not the _459.grf one) file on that setup .. and allmost all planes had the Concorde look, even the 'copters.

Yes, I know the refit procedure. But something seems to be missing from my setup. Available freights are passengers, mail, goods and valuables, the standard ones. And I know it's possible to refit to oil or iron ore (I've downloaded saved games with planes with this configuration). But I'm not able to set up this configuration. I've loaded the planesetw_459.grf and the graphics for the planes did change but not the refit option.
Somewhere along the line I've missed something. Perhaps a setting in openttd.cfg file or a patch or something.
According to DaleStan it should be as easy as loading the plane grf file but it doesn't do the trick. Perhaps I should reinstall and try again. Could be I've ran some patch along the line that prevents this from working.

You'll need mart3p's PlaneSet build, or the IN, to make Planeset 1.2 work something close to correctly. To make it work exactly correctly, you'll need TTDPatch 2.5 beta 1 or later.

None of them? Not even the 747s? That surprises me, but I had basically nothing to do with it, so I don't know for sure.

I DL'd TTDPatch 2.5b3 and what do you know - it crashed :)
But OTTD runs fine without TTDPatch I believe (don't kill me if I'm wrong).

But for a newbee, what's an IN .. a patch or addin??
I'm running OTTD r4424IN at the moment.

And since you mentioned the 747, included is a png wich shows refit options for that plane.

And no one is blaming you for anything. Just hoped I would find a solution for this. Sooner or later there will be a solution for it :D

Arild, your sceenshot shows Planesetw_459. Use Planesetw.grf and you will get all the cargo options. There are some problems with the cargo capacities when using Planeset but I'm working on it... :)
Also upgrade to the latest IN (r4442).

It does that from time to time, unfortunately. Go post the crashlog (CRASH###.txt) and your configs in the Problems with TTDPatch forum.

mart3p: PlaneSet 1.5 can pretty easily contain code to set the Ruslan's capacity to 400 pax in Open. (As a matter of fact, such code is already written, just not tested.)

I didn't think of checking planesetw.grf on the other builds since it didn't work in the one I was using. I'm now running r4442M and it looks like it works wonderfully :D Did a check around year 2000 and all the planes I tried had refit option as you said.

Only glitch in my joy was that it didn't load my saved game. But hey, can't have everything - started from scratch :D
