New AI

hi im new here and i have a question.

what is the latest version of computer AI for this game,
i have version 0.4.0.1 and havent added anything so the AI that came with it is what i have and well the computer only builds vehicles, no trains, no planes, no ships

thx in advance.

As far as i know, the New AI is exactly the same in the Nightlies as it is in 0.4.0.1

Infact, the AI hasn't seemed to progress in zonkers..

eh?

how come there havent been any progress to it?
oh well i'll stick to the old ai's (which cant build anything)

Acording to a comment in the code the author of the new AI have stoped to work with it in its current form. He/she have started to work with a better structure for AI hacking (acording to that comment).

I am not involved in the development so I can't tell if the new AI-system development also have staled.

As zuu just stated, I (the current AI developer) am indeed working on a new framework to allow better AIs, and to make it easier for other people to build AIs. This framework is almost done, I am currently documenting stuff. When that is done, I expect many new AIs, which will be much better then mine, soon to popup. When that time is there, this NewAI in 0.4.0.1 (which is, besides some minor bug-fixing, exactly the same as in the current nightly), will be fully removed. This mostly becaues the code grown too ugly ;)

So, short, the AI development isn't standing still. That is, it was for the past few months, but it is now more alive then ever before ;) Expect some more details soon.

One sidenote: for now, only road-vehicles are supported. Soon this will grow to cover the rest of the transportation options.

"real opponents" can you only find if you click the multiplayer button :P
