Sorry "my friend" but you have just been reported. Two spams within three
hours. Think the time gap makes you innocent? It only takes a quick look at
the NNTP Posting Host header to see that you have posted this from the same
IP address.

Thanks,

You betcha! I loved that one.

In fact I made a reference to it in a recent post.

"Hey did anyone see that Father Ted where Ted had to kick Bishop Brennan up
the arse, and the Bishop brought along his PA, the most sarcastic priest in
Ireland

"Ted: Are you helping Bishop Brennan?"
"No, I'm up in space doing important work for NASA(!)"

"Ted: Did you come by the new road?"
"No, we came via Southern Yemen(!)""

Just proves that sarcasm is funny. But not when you are on the receiving
end.
During Games lessons, the sarcasm coming from myself to the dickhead Games
teacher is quite impressive. But then he replies with more sarcasm. Sarcasm
is difficult to defeat. The only possible way to defeat a sarcastic person,
is by replying with yet more sarcasm.

Eddie, please shut up!

Most of us never see the spams that you do, and would waste a lot less
time and money if you didn't reply to them.

I doubt any of the spammers ever read the newsgroups, so won't read any
of your replies to the newsgroups.

Act 1: At a local police station...
===================================

Police officer: Yes sir, how can I help you?

Man: I'd like to report a crime.

Officer: What sort of crime, sir?

Man: Well, I'm not exactly sure...

Officer: Were you involved in this crime, sir?

Man: Well, no...

Officer: Did you see what happened, sir?

Man: Well, not exactly. Someone else told me a little bit...

Officer: Someone else? Well, why are you reporting the crime?

Man: Because he told me to!

Officer: But you weren't involved!

Man: Yes, but I thought it might be helpful...

Officer: Not if you don't know the details of the crime!

Man: Oh. What now, then?

Officer: I'm arresting you for stupidity, sir!

Eddie, the point is that nobody's going to report a spam
which they didn't see firsthand. When sending a report, it's
customary to forward the original message - which most of us
never see! Besides this, your replies might include the
spammer's e-mail address, but often the only useful
information is in the headers - which your replies don't
include!

So, please try and resist the temptation to reply to the
spammers in this newsgroup. Try replying to them via e-mail
if you really must laugh at them - I did that and got a
sheepish apology back one time!

This is irrelavent. Since when has the internet been policed? That is what
you are using in a metaphorical sense. No one polices the internet, so we
have to do it ourselves. The more that complain, the more their ISP will do
about it.

I know this, and I always copy the entire headers and forward it to the ISP
in question. I've researched how to report spammers etc. so I know what is
in order.

OK, the play was only a little bit of fun! But my point
still stands: we can only report spam if we actually get it.
As I said, your replies in the newsgroups to the original
messages don't include the relevant headers, nor can we
easily forward the original message itself...

Go on! Make it a new month's resolution! :-)

By the way, I should add for the people that don't know that
you should never reply to any "remove" address included in
a spam. Such addresses are usually just a trick to see if
your mail account is still active.

Absolutely. I just add them to my Blocked Senders List anyway. If you reply,
they know it is a valid address and will then sell on your email. Most of
the time though, the "remove" address is invalid.

I made a simple message rule in OE, so that every message I get from
certain addresses get forwarded to SpamCop, and then gets replied to
with a special message I made, and finally gets deleated. I never see
