Okay then. This will hopefully be the last post on this issue.
I am prepared to make some concessions, but I just wonder whether everyone
else is.
Flames are not banned, but are to be discouraged. Any newbies that appear
and start mouthing off, then they should know that the consequences will be
hatred by everyone else. In that case, then flaming is OK.
We should debate without having to use insults. I don't want flames, and I
could easily start one now by saying
"TT sucks. Space Invaders was way better"
But don't go flaming me now. This was example only. I don't actually believe
that.
So to conclude, flaming is allowed, but if it gets way out of hand, and
starts ruining this group, which I hope it won't, then I will blame the
pro-flaming league.
I will never flame anyone. Even if they insult me.
About the rules part, the only rules are the common sense ones. They are
common practice for everyone on the group.
No binaries, No spam.
They are the only rules of the NG. No one should have to be reminded this,
as these are fundamental rules of every group, so Anthony, do you agree that
these two rules should be put in the FAQ, just to remind newbies?
CLARIFY: Flaming allowed but to be discouraged, no spam, no binaries. These,
Paul, should be listed in the FAQ.
Are you all in agreement?
Eddie
Final Word on the FAQ
Re: Final Word on the FAQ
If I ever feel my language is getting out of hand, I try and clarify thatI will never flame anyone. Even if they insult me.
what I am writing is not a flame. I, also, will endeavour never to flame.

they become a real pain and continue to insult and get on everyones nerves
THEN I will publicly say something............
But by then their ISP will have been notified..

Yeah, I don't have any problem with that. It was just the business
about the elders and the idea that _someone_ is in charge of the
group, that was worrying me.
