Shocky multiplayer for clients

Post by paddoswam »

Hi r33d3r,

I've experienced no difficulties just a weird looking thingie,

While multiplayering on:
server (AMD Athlon64 3200+, 100mbit)
client (P3 866Mhz, 100mbit)

the client see's his trains shock but on the server everything is fluently, it doesn't affect the game play but just looks kinda ^$%@#%

Can this be fixed or is there some way to get around this issue!?

It's probably lag if neither server or client(s) have a 100% CPU usage.

Try being more lenient towards clients by increasing 'net_sync_freq'

lenient? What do you mean with that sorry my bad english I'm dutch you know

and both PC had 3% cpu usage and the network was 0.1 - 0.5 % used.

I think it's sync speed of openTTD, anyways it's not affacting anything but just a bit annoying for the client (Like I care I'm always server :P)

I've found that typing:

net_frame_freq = 10

into the console will help reduce visual lag significantly. Isn't the net_sync_freq just for checking the clients are in sync?

Rule 1(f)... "Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.".

In other words, "reader" has no numbers in it. Thank you. :P
