Problem earning money

Post by Yyrd »

Ok, i just started playing this game . First theer are no trains to build. only a bus and a small airplane.

the busses never make profit, so i tryed to build 3 planes. each plane says it makes 20,000 a year profit. but my income statement does not reflect this. it only show my expences. therefore i am getting poorer and poorer, even thuoght the aircraft are maken more money then, i am spending. it seem it is not being added to my income.

any idea's why?

one, do you have the full, from the store version, or some demo, download, etc?

two, are you playing a scenario, or jus sandboxxin?

three, the busses need stops for them to actually pick up people. go to the road build button. activate it. the second tab should be the stops. select the passenger one that applies to your need. hold it for a sec over the road to see the bluish cachment area. this is the area from which supply and demands are made for this particular stop. if it meets your approval, build it there. a given bus will need a second stop at least. a source and destination if you will. find another spot, outside the cachment of the first, and build a stop there. now that you have stops, make sure your bus knows this. go to your bus, click to activate its menus. look for the green tab that looks like a sign for an exit ramp. that is your routing. click it open and it will say Local (on one line) and End of Route (on the next) or something like that. Anyways, click stop one. It will appear on the route. Repeat for stop two (and three, four, etc as you expand and want THIS bus to go to). Now that you have a route, choose local or express. The difference is whether or not you want your bus to stop at ALL stops in between (local) or not (express) . Viola, your busses should now run. Use this same routing procedure for all means of transportation (yes, even airports). Though routing ships is a pain because they are so stooooopid. Those will sit at a rock in front of the harbor, in plain sight of the harbor, and say "Where is the harbor?!"

Your planes will make money, but they gotta have a route. Use the procedure outlined above for busses, to make your airplanes work.

Oh, trains to build. Nearly forgot. All vehicles are built in the same tab at the top. Just choose which vehicle. Trains will need both components to do anything profitable. It will need both the locomotive (engine) and the cars (profits). Mind you, some scenarios put limitations on which vehicles (type, not model) you can build. In Aerophobia for example, you cant build airplanes.

hope it helps.
Q: Is the glass half full or half empty

A: I have kids, thus the glass is empty.

I had the exact same problem a year or two ago. Except that was with Open Transport Tycoon. I fixed it by downloading the newest version.
