About reliability and local/express

Post by dnx »

sorry if i have post in a wrong way and im not good at english

1. the bus(any traffic) reliability going down, to change a new bus, is there any efficient way than buy>set route>delete old one (if for a lot of buses)

2. in a setting route screen, what is the different about --local-- and --express--

thanks for reply :)

I don't know about the first one, but your second question is easy:

Its for trains/trams that drive on a track, where you can have multiple station and a train passes them all while going from A to B, let me explain it:
ABCD indicates a station, - is a track

A--B--C--D, If you didn't change to express and you ordered the train to go from A to D it will stop at every station, thus: stops at A, B, C and D.

If you set it to express and you ordered the train to go from A to D, it will just pass by station C and D without stopping.

I hope you are able to get something out of my post, my english sucks too.

Basically, what he is saying is.

If you have 3+ stations, then an express will only stop at the ones you tell it to on the route list. Local trains will stop at all stations they pass.

Yup, thats what I meant :D

Now about replacing vehicles, my 26 trams are all down to 1% relability, and changing them piece by piece sucks (deleting it, creating new one, place it on track etc. etc.)

Great, you can have as much vehicles as you want, but you have to replace them manually, I wish there was a button that just refreshed it for the cost of the vehicle :(

Or maybe a way to tell it to just replace a certain vehicle, group of vehicles, whatever, once their reliability gets too low.

About the reliability...

First, select the vehicle you want to replace.

Stop it.

Go to the second tab of the vehicle.

You see the vehicle there, move the vehicle to the trashcan :P

Once done that, click on the icon above the trashcan.

Buy a new bus/train/aircraft.

Place it on the land, and your done.

It took me about 5 minutes to replace all of my 35 busses.

Or if there was a trainer for stopping the aging of vehicles, I would use that too.

A trainer that would set the reliability up to 75% when it reaches 25%, or any other value, would be nice. No need to buy a new, just fix reliability.

But anyway, I don't think it takes long to replace the vehicles, so I would not want to use a trainer. Like J3roen said, you can change your fleet of busses and trams in just a few minutes.

A few minutes? Took me like 15-20min to change 80+ busses, and those are just the ones that are operating in two cities. What if I enlarge my network...By the time I have gone through replacing all my busses I would have to start over again since those I replaced first will now have aged.... In the end the whole game will consist of replaing vehicles over and over again.... OK so a litte extreme example here but you get my point.

You can seriously decrease time needed for renewal by using trains instead of buses :D It's just like TTD, trains rule!
