Editing Options

Post by Awesome »

Hi Folks,

Been playing Transport Tycoon since it was released in what... 1995? I think I've been playing OpenTTD since the mid 2000's, so I guess since pretty early on. Anyway, was watching some videos online and noticed people have a strange way of building rail networks now so I was going to make some videos on the topic myself, but I got distracted.
The options list for localization is allowing me to set the units to Imperial (great), but not allowing me to set the standard FtLbs unit instead of the incorrect (British) LbFt unit.
I'm not asking anyone to change this for me, I'm just wondering how I go about changing it myself. I'd assume most people couldn't care less about this, but it bothers me personally.

I've never tried to edit any of the files before, so if someone could let me know where to start looking I'd appreciate it.

Rather than editing the source code yourself, it would be better to submit a request to add it via the GitHub repository. OenTTD 15 will be released soon, so this might be something they could quickly add in.

Source code? Oh. I was under the impression that stuff like this was editable. I'll have to submit a request then. I'm playing the 15 beta right now and I've found a couple of bugs.

You don't need to edit anything. ;)

lbf, which is correctly used in the game, is not the same as LbFt. Also, LbFt is not incorrect because it is not the same as FtLbs. Each of the units refers to something different.
I am sorry for may English. I know is bed.
