There's a greater chance of that happening if you do something constructive.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

since level crossings aren't "safe" there's no reason to use them over bridges/tunnels anyway
so no, this project probably wont be revived

But It was very useful in cities, because the diagonal tracks stops the growth of cities.

... and in the interests of realism. Crossings are safe with PBS, which is in trunk now and they were only unsafe if they had road vehicles crossing them.
Even if it is just to make cites with diagonal tracks look more pleasing I'd still like to see this resurrected too.
That and I keep running into competitors roads on diagonals and have to bend it straight and back again to get across their roads.

Not that I condone the enormity of the topic bump

This would be really, really handy for building in cities.

I saw this in one of the screenshots in the screenshot thread and i just though, MY GOD I WANT THAT!

Is there any chance this could be resurected? And an up-to-date working grf made.

It would be extreemly handy to have this in game. And it makes it more realistic.

Please. If someone can resurrect this genious project, which has more work than some crazy often requested ones, please do so.

I think a lot of people would be happy to see them. And ive found level crossings are usually safe anyway, even with traffic.

It is highly unlikely that this patch can be resurrected. Besides the original flaws with closing and opening of adjacent crossings, the map space layout for level crossings has significantly changed, and there are not enough bits left to store the diagonal track layouts, plus their PBS reservations.

PS: this has absolutely nothing to do with GRFs

Is this patch too old to be updated to latest trunk or 0.7.0? If it is possible to update it, could anyone show me how to?

Did you read the posts above yours? Specifically Eddi's? I can guaruntee you it hasn't got any easier in the last 6 months. Coupled with the fact the last post related to development was in August 2006 (!), its a pretty safe bet it can't be updated.

I don't suppose anyone knows what this .grf appears as in the list ? I have added it into my data folder, but it seems to be invisible in the game ?

You can play it with this OTTD mod:
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=521948#p521948

But remember that It's a bit outdated, and some features are not included (but... I prefer play with diagonal level crossings than PBS).

I don't know if this patch could be updated without lots of code changes. :?

The GRF file doesn't work on current OTTD versions, You would need update the patch and compile it. :(
