Those single level coaches look a lot like the current bi-levels! Good stuff!

Wow! That looks gorgeous!
Couple questions -
1. Did you figure out the matching platform-covers for longer platforms?
2. How much does this station stretch? I mean, how wide and long can it get?

Alright, Metra has been updated. Roofs are now cherry-red instead of radioactive orange.
If you don't like it now, you should:
A.) Not play in the Artic Climate.
or
B.) DON'T USE THE METRA ENGINES. If you don't like Metra, Amtrack is available in the Artic set, too; use that livery instead.
I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but I find it annoying when people who have never even seen a Metra train in person, let alone even ridden on one, want the livery gone, just because it doesn't suit their personal taste. This set is about choices: you are given many. If something doesn't suit you, USE SOMETHING ELSE.

Thrakki - I love the Metra stock, I use their stock for my competitiors that use my tracks. It may not be realistic, but it is nice to have a competitor using a fast commuter service, and start beating me on a local level, whereas in the big cities where my express trains also stop, I can smash them on ratings.
I love your Metra stock, it looks great!
Oz? Man of the hour mate, I tip my hat to you. I first have to find a hat to tip, but thats a bloody nice station in the meantime

Thanks everyone for your remarks on the GCT. This project has certainly become a labor of love, and a monkey on my back.
krtaylor: I've included a couple of size examples below. I have the widths set at a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 tracks. I feel that those two sizes should work well for a large metropolitan station. If someone wants to go wider, then they could use any of the number of platforms in p:gs or MB's sets. Might make it look like a modern addition to a classic station.
As for length, conceiveably it's possible to go up to 14 tiles in length, but if you look at the bottom figure, it starts to look pretty meh after about five. I sure wouldn't want to have that behemoth in one of my cities. That's why I plan on updating the exterior platforms that I already drew a few months ago. I'm going to connect the roofs of the covered platforms, and add some variability to them to make it look like a well-used urban station.
Louie: Great sequestion, and one that I've considered. Problem is, the roof has to be expandable, and instead of having one head peeking over the roof on the other side, there's a Mercury statue union meeting. Good thinking, though.
Cornelius: Are you planning on continuing to work on your mission-style station? If not, would you mind if I used your graphics, and took a stab at it? The GCT is wrapping up, and I'd like to be a self-imposed whipping boy for another large station. Let me know.
Cheers!

Here's a small rural station I've been working on for awhile now (like 6 months), finally got the ambition to split it. Oracle, this OK?

I love both stations. looking great.
would it be possible to use the new feature on those now. Like Dan's station, rather then having it in the middle between the tracks, have it as adittional tile on the side?
Dunno about the GCT, but I assume that not the whole building is filled with tracks right to the edge?
Oz, how about making a kind of square, that you can put in front of the GCT, with flowers and and fountains etc? Just for eyecandy.

Hey, Irish, I like the idea of a static, "no-go" station platform in front of the Terminal. Especially since the current sprites overwrite the adjacent tiles by six pxls so that the locos' noses don't poke through. But, since I couldn't figure out how to add the taxi ramps without redrawing the whole station (
), what would you think about a taxi stand instead? A little more practical, and it definately fits in with the idea of an urban station.
One thing about the example below, please excuse the use of original TT road tiles. They really must be changed. I mean, the Northern curb is 3 pxls (~5 1/2 feet) tall. Does everyone in TT land drive monster trucks for Chrissakes? Wasn't somebody working on new roads for the U.S. set?
Dan: Great looking station! Very Victorian. Reminds me of a former PRR station in Bridgeville, PA, now used as the local public library. Even has an old caboose attached that's used as the kid's section! How cool is that?!
Cheers!

I would like to carry on with it, especially now we have the patch to reserve station tracks for buildings, but I really have hardly any time for graphicking these daysOz wrote:Cornelius: Are you planning on continuing to work on your mission-style station? If you want I can send you the PSD of my work in progress though.
And the GCT looks amazing!
