Re: Photo Of The Month - August 2012 Entries
Google StreetView is obbligated to mask ALL faces, licence plates on cars, all "personal" stuff, unless they get a written approval from people. In theory, you could sue them if you find your face unmasked. They are bound to have all their pics fully "neutralized" regarding privacy.
* Don't take me literally, I'm not getting into law-stuff but this is basically how it works for Google StreetView *

Well three of the kids in the boat have got permission from the parents, because Dominic has given it.47407 wrote:Alledgedly, you can't display children's faces unless under express permission from the parents...

Here's my entry, two BC Ferries passing each other in the often turbulent waters of Active Pass. The strong currents, caused by the tide going in or out, make the pass treacherous for small boats.

Thank you for the entries so far everyone. I'll start adding them to the wiki later today or tomorrow.
I'm surprised that there's been no steam engines yet. I thought someone would have linked the theme of water to steam

With regards to my entries, I'd like to submit the Donner Lake one I think. It does feature a variety of boats on the water, plus a marina and indeed also a motorway in the background. If you do still think it is not sufficiently "transporty", though, then I understand.
Re: Photo Of The Month - August 2012 Entries
I dunno, for my money I think that one's fine. The patterns the boats have made is quite cool.
Definitely not the Lake Tahoe one. Not a smidge of transport in that

I think because a level of zoom is required, I don't think they are both suitable. That's my two pence. However, if you cropped the Donner Lake one, then it would.orudge wrote:With regards to my entries, I'd like to submit the Donner Lake one I think. I hereby withdraw my previous entry... again... for this.

This has also been slightly cropped - if you need the full image let me know.

I just got an insurance quote on your car. And an HPI analysis. Oh - and reported it to the Police as stolen.47407 wrote:I hereby withdraw my previous entry... again... for this.

Are you happy for your car's licence plate number to be in the shot?47407 wrote:My car after a 230mi trip from one side of the UK to the other - in Pembroke Dock.

That's ridiculous, you can read all the license plates of cars that are driving around, and do the same thing with those numbers. Still, nobody does.

I'm not fussed but if the Moderizzle Shagger and Captain Janeway have other ideas then pixelise it outGeo Ghost wrote:Are you happy for your car's licence plate number to be in the shot?47407 wrote:My car after a 230mi trip from one side of the UK to the other - in Pembroke Dock.

Edit: if it has got as far as the FBI then please do take it out

My entry for this month. Sorry I missed the last months competition, but I was on holiday, where I took this shot.

As epic and as much I love that shot, it doesn't really meet transport criteria in my eyes. The Irish wrote:My entry for this month. Sorry I missed the last months competition, but I was on holiday, where I took this shot.

Agreed. Amazing pic, but not really relevant.Ameecher wrote: As epic and as much I love that shot, it doesn't really meet transport criteria in my eyes.
