Maybe the one that voted crap was drunk or under the influence of drugs. Thats why he didn't understand the patch. Or maybe he was using that slope to secretly cultivate his 'favorite' plant.

Hey, that's a cool screenshot? Is here a grf for that? I'm also interested in how it actually works.michael blunck wrote:Like this?make it look like substation with transparent roof is only a matter of station GRF

Correct.
Nah, that´s just TTDPatch´s autoslope feature (corresponding to the feature discussed here) together with Oskar´s enhancedtunnels.in a cutting with (I presume) an unreleased .grf by Michael too.
In fact, doing some more new "underground stations" this way would be straightforward and easy. I´ll look into it.
BTW, enhancedtunnels are also very useful for "interchange stations". Pity that we cannot place station tiles on top of such a tunnel, but just mere track. See attachment.

What? enhanced tunnels is not in OTTD, it is a TTDPatch feature and bears little or no relevance to this thread.griffin71 wrote:So, the patch is not ready for the trunk?michael blunck wrote:BTW, enhancedtunnels are also very useful for "interchange stations". There won´t be any "tunnel.grf" from my side. At least not until we´ll get proper .nfo actions for tunnels.Ameecher wrote:"unreleased tunnel.grf"
Well, mine are years old. In fact they date back long before enhancedtunnels was released. I only adapted them (height-wise) to the appropriate dimensions afterwards.Ben_K wrote:Hmmm... they look suspiciously like BKTunnels to me
They are (and have to be), however, quite similar in dimensions to any other tunnel graphics for the enhancedtunnels feature. That´s unavoidable, unfortunately.
However, their colour, sticking them together, and that slant walls are really old features.

Michael
Thanks for the patch against trunk. Couple things I mentioned on irc:
- Industry graphics apparently weren't meant to ever be on foundations, see attachment. Maybe some grf wizard has an idea how to fix this?

And a few other things (separate reply because of the attachment limit):
- The three error messages in the first pic are replaced by the generic STR_WOULD_CHANGE_FOUNDATION in your patch. Making error messages more cryptic is a Bad Thing.
Non-trivial to fix, I think.
- Second pic, another error message that's technically correct but confusing for the typical user.
- Semi-related idea: a good companion patch to this one would be an option to make everything except the landscape transparent or invisible.

We had that problem in TTDPatch ages ago. And it's not the industry graphics. The build-on-slopes system is selecting the wrong foundation sprites.benc wrote:Industry graphics apparently weren't meant to ever be on foundations, see attachment. Maybe some grf wizard has an idea how to fix this?
And for "cell", read "tile". We really don't need MORE ways you can create a stepped station.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

I think what happened here is that of EACH of the tiles under the industry, 3 out of 4 corners are lowered, also in the middle of the industry. This shouldn't happen of course, something to fix? If lowering only the outside edges of the industry, I'm sure this won't happen.benc wrote:Industry graphics apparently weren't meant to ever be on foundations, see attachment. Attached is a patch that *should* fix the industry foundation graphic glitch. Ev, feel free to integrate into your patch if it'll help. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, DaleStan.
Yes.boekabart wrote:I think what happened here is that of EACH of the tiles under the industry, 3 out of 4 corners are lowered, also in the middle of the industry.
Why "of course"? After all, you can build stuff like this in 0.5.x:boekabart wrote:This shouldn't happen of course, something to fix?

- You can't see it of course, but the pattern of gaps continues underneath the station
