indeed, my bike is a cheap second hand one. no fancy paint or anything... (pure black). when i maintain it i try not to clean the frame or wheels (only the mechanical bits) - don't want it to look all shiny and new....
there is a slight problem with doing passenger friendly strikes Purno - if the public doesn't mind the strike there is no pressure on the company to act.

Heh funny, I saw a bus driving today from my work to home and it said in the front: "Sorry, geen dienst" which would translate as "Sorry, no service". It looked like it was driving at regular shedule though, passengers just can't get in or out .

My sister's law, when you are in time then public transport arives too late. When you are in a hurry to catch your train/bus/whatever then it is too early and you'll see it disapearing right before you .
It happened to me once that I arrived at the station too late but when I was there, the PA system told me that the train would be 5 minutes too late aswell. So I waited...
And waited...
Then the PA system told me (after 15 minutes) that the train wasn't comming and I should take the bus.
So I walk away from the platform to go to the busstop when I got there I saw my train (wich did show up, or it was the next train in schedule) departing from the station...
There's an interesting effect that I seem to have on the Circle Line. If I'm cutting it a bit fine to catch a train from St Pancras the underground train always, always sits in Edgware Road for about 10-15 minutes. I presume this is the driver pulling over to play a game of tetris on his gameboy or something.
Confusious say "Man with one altimeter always know height. Man with two altimeters never certain."

...and if they can't?
And if they can, you'll have no buses to ride on anyway, because they all swaped jobs..

Well, think for a moment if you were a bus driver that got way to little paid, is it then more important to have friends or to be able to get food on the table and roof over your head everday?
In the morning there pass two buses with 23 minutes between them them here (if they are in route).
One 6:46 and one 7:09. I grab the 7:09 one, coming to the bus stop about 7:05.
The point: There's about 20 people at the bus stop at the 7:09 one and two on the 6:46.
Yesterday the 6:46 bus arrived 7:03 and the 7:09 was there a half minute later.
Which means I came 1 minute too late, and had wait 15 minutes to take another bus (the other direction) to the central station (takes about 10 minutes to drive)
and take another bus to another smaller main station (15 minutes), and wait for a bus to the school there (another 20 minutes).
Normally i'm at school about 7:30, but this day I came 8:10. School starts 7:50.
I could wait @ my bus stop to 8:30 and take a bus to school, but then I would came even more late.
Currently I hate Nettbuss Ringerike (local bus service).

Well, food is not that expensive, my mother barely spends €300,- on it every month. They are just being greedy b****** because they want a new 200" flatscreen tv .

Well, maybe they have bills and other stuff to pay off as well, maybe a loan on the new 200" TV?

Who needs a 200" TV? I got my GameBoy Color, and that's big enough for me
