We've also made some conversions too, like these for example. The problem is that we asked the authors of original MSTS models if they allow us to use them, but they haven't yet replied...
There are some trucks too, but the MSTS2Loco doesn't have the right angles for cars and trams.

They look nice! I tried the ER22-22 train, it's very good...
But i have a question (not critic, i'm stupid in Russian rail vehicles topic) does these (ЭР-22 and ЭД-9) EMUs carry mail? or have they got mailvan?
When will you relaease a bigger pack, with Diesel and Electric trains, and rolling stock like wagons?
IMO you should release ED-9 and ER-22 and the other MSTS converted trains in a ZIP file, if it isn't a big problem...

AFAIK, no, there is no mail carriage, and they don't carry mail at all. They are mostly suburban trains.
I would like to release it, but i'm not sure that there is enough vehicles at this moment. All the conversions are pending for permission from their authors, so it would be wrong to release them now. So the only vehicles, that are ready for releasing in our project at this moment are those made by me and also Seelenquell's tram.
For now the conversions are availible for downloading from our forum, but it's just for testing and internal use, not for releasing. If you want to test some of them, I can send you personnaly. But, of course, no distribution or something.
And all my models I've already posted...

OK, i can wait that time, many other people converted MSTS trains from all kind of countries, and they usually allow to use their trains in other games like Locomotion.Damage wrote:AFAIK, no, there is no mail carriage, and they don't carry mail at all. They are mostly suburban trains.

I saw pics on the net about ЭР-22, ЭД-9 and ТУ-2. Poor ER-22 trains are in worse condition, very rusty... most of the photos were taken in 1994/95 on that Russian site. But 1 was in nice condition on an 1997 pic...
TU-2 look really cool, and ED-9 look modern, but not that ugly make-me-vomit modernity, like American or West-Europena or Japanese vehicles, because it dosen't have lots of "design" on it... a simple geometrical object... so it looks COOL!!!
Personylly i think those red stars which symbols the rise of the USSR and the socialism look good on vehicles, buildings, statues, flags, etc. because it has POWER (even if i'm not communist)
EVEN the Heineken beer stole the Red Star... lol... a Holland Beer

Yeah, that's true. But some of them are still running! Looks like soviet engineers and constructors built for ages. Even the houses, built in the Stalin epoque, are considered one of the most age-resistant.I saw pics on the net about ЭР-22, ЭД-9 and ТУ-2. Poor ER-22 trains are in worse condition, very rusty... most of the photos were taken in 1994/95 on that Russian site. But 1 was in nice condition on an 1997 pic...
Agree, all the trains are very different from other countries designs. I took most of my photos on http://www.parovoz.com/newgallery/TU-2 look really cool, and ED-9 look modern, but not that ugly make-me-vomit modernity, like American or West-Europena or Japanese vehicles, because it dosen't have lots of "design" on it... a simple geometrical object... so it looks COOL!!!
That's because the communists have created a legend, an image. Whole soviet propaganda machine worked on it. The symbol is simple, noticeable, but has a special atmosphere around it.Personylly i think those red stars which symbols the rise of the USSR and the socialism look good on vehicles, buildings, statues, flags, etc. because it has POWER (even if i'm not communist)
As you may have noticed, I've added a red star to Er-22 and Tu2. Imho it improves the look very much.
EVEN the Heineken beer stole the Red Star...

You've asked - I'm doing it. Now I try to convert Kamaz. Met some problems...
/upd MAZ and KamAZ are done, thanks a lot to Seelenquell, but again I cannot release it, because it's a conversion. Here's a screenshot.

Yes, we like them. Maybe MSTS modellers are busy, and the trucks look nice. You done good job, and personally i like it very much that an East European from the postcommunist area (like me) make that vehicles that we see on the streets in our home country. Better than ultra-futuristic s*** which have so many computer bugs on their engine controlling computer that they spend their lifetime in the service garage...Damage wrote:Glad, that you liked them.![]()
I've made 5 more vehicles: wagons, ng locos, and an automotrice. I'll post screenshots soon. Still no response from MSTS model creators, so looks like you'll have to wait some more time.
BTW is the 1965 release for ЭР-22 real? because it's 41 years old and it still run in Russia

You could make wide-gauge rail for Russian trains

(Ok, last one was a joke)

I heard in Soviet times, when Ukraine which is our neighbor country was part of USSR, as they get cargo trains to wide-gauge, they always make some part of the cargo "disappear"... so they bring that home...scpk2000 wrote:That's right, I remember they have 2 gauges of rails in Russia. I read about in a story I was reading. They have switching houses where I think either the engines or carriages have different wheels switched out...is that right?
USSR was a huge country... it had inner borders... people needed inner passport to travel from one state to another, like from Ukraine to Kazahstan etc.
That all collapsed, because the side effectsof communism get visible and people want democracy, so they get it... like in the whole East Europe... Czehslovakia slip up into Czeh and Slovakian land, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary changed regime, USSR split into 15 countries, Yugoslavia split to Bosnia, Slovenia, small-Yugoslavia (nowdays Serbia and Montenegro), Macedonia, Croatia in a big civil war...
PS: sorry for off but history help us understand the present...

And some more...
Such as Steel car, VL4 narrow gauge electric unit and Pafawag ng passenger carriage.
scpk2000, you're right.
The soviet/russian gauge is 1520mm. That's because historically russian railways appeared later than most of europeans. By this time engeeners calculated, that wider 1520mm gauge will be better than standart european. The bad side of this is that every train going to Europe or back to Russia has to change wheels, and that takes a lot of time. Guess they could steal everything they wanted during this change...
USSR was a... strange country, I must admit. Somewhat too artificial. But the tech level was maintaind as high as possible. Hence so many interesting vehicles.
Do you know, if USSR did export many trains or any other vehicles to Eastern Europe countries? And is there anything left now?
There's an upgraded one, with different looking cabin. Designed in 1975, AFAIK. I think the oldest trains still running were created in 80's. But I'm not sure, so I'll check this.
The good news is that we've found one of the MSTS modellers (or maybe he found us...), and looks like he don't mind if we use his models. We'll try to contact the others...

Yes, but that's for older version, which I recreated.BTW is the 1965 release for ЭР-22 real?

Well, the first loco that I'd think of is VL65. Looks similiar, but as you can see it has different number of wheels. Which gauge do Chinese railways use? Maybe they were changed because it was a special order? But IMHO in Loco they'll be just like twins.
VL85 looks similar too.
