Oh. Well, you are not going to be drawing new graphics, right? Just coding them.

Hey, Death, bienvenido, hombre! (It's somehow strange to say "welcome" to Death!
)
We surely need a coder help here, even if you are at your first steps, I'm glad to have you joining along. You can learn in the process, there are a lot of coders in the community that will help you improving your skills.
If you don't have experience with graphics, then I reccommend you to focus only in coding. There is a lot to be drawn yet; and it's still a long way before all the sprites are done. But a coder is a prime necessity right now; you can code the Spain set, and when it's finished, you can help other sets get going, or help teaching to other new coders.
So keep practising, take a look at the link in my sig to the Spain set developement site, and use the graphics posted there to begin practising.
For example, try coding a very simple GRF with one of the engines or something like that.
Forget about the freight carriages at the moment, since we don't have many of them drawn yet. We also need to stablish a clear cargo chart; and the ECS is not finished yet neither, so don't worry about freight cars at the moment.
Good luck, hope your work with us is profitable and you enjoy!

The trains which picture is framed red are finished and ready to be coded. yellow are work in progress: some sprites finished, but still need work to be 100% ok. green are the ones that haven't been claimed yet.
The color are thought from the artists point of view, not from the coders
green is go! (draw it) and red is stop (already drawn, don't waste time with it)

Hello!
I have finished 2 more electric engines:
280 and 252. Actually 280 looked quite like the 276 (gently brought to us by Bastiaan, from the Dutch set!) I only recolored it a bit and added some side panels.
The 252 was made from scratch, it has the freight, AVE and Altaria liveries.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it ![Pleased :]](./images/smilies/pleased.gif)
krtaylor: can you update the latest releases? this is good news! we only have 2 electric locomotives left! (not EMUs)
Actually they are the "crocodile" type ones, I asked MB advice on how to draw them, since he has drawn a lot of those, but he seems to be busy...
Take a look here
This locomotive is still in testing so we don't have much technical data: the only I could retrieve was:
Max speed: 220km/h (regular track) 260km/h (high speed track)
Can you Aerond or someone else try to get more information about this wonderful engine?
Replace the list entries for electric "253" with "L 9202" known as Travca.
...
and here are the sprites for it!!

Yes, that's the one! He will surely be able to find the proper information if you give him the name: L-9202 Travca, "Virgen del buen camino"
And by the way, one more finished! the 261 is here. It was shorter than I thought, so there was no need to split it into 2 sprites. However this was a tricky one!
Only one to go!! the 272 is the last electric on the list! leave it to me![Pleased :]](./images/smilies/pleased.gif)

Coyote, thanks a lot! Here you have another set of pantographs:
This the last elecctric locomotive left from the table!! I have finished the 273, it's splitted into 2 parts, to get the extra-long effect properly.
Let's see if the way I drew it looks alright in game...
Since there are parts where it's hard to see where the 2 sprites should match, I created an allocation scheme:

We've got good news ahead!
Surfing around, I found these forums: http://www.skyscrapercity.info/index.php
There's a part with a spanish speakers community and they feature a transportation threads where people talk about technical data, information and news etc.
They semt quite useful, so I have suscribed there, and asked for information about the new L 9202 locomotive.
They brought me the information I asked in no time!
Here is the technical data for the TRAVCA L9202:
Release date: 2005
Max speed: 260 km/h
Power 3600kw
Tractive effort: 160 kN at 72 km/h ; 44 kN at 260 km/h.
Weight: 74t
Thanks a lot to BPT and Canyailla from the Skyscrapper forums
By the way, krtaylor: can you update the dev. site with this information:
> The name should be TRAVCA L9202. Drop the "253", that's erroneous.
> The current image in the tracking table shows a locomotive half built. We should better use this other picture:

thanks!

Good news!
Do you think you could have them just take a look at the tracking table and make suggestions? They might identify wrong stats, or suggest an important vehicle we missed. Particularly, more modern diesels would be good.
Who knows, maybe we would get some of them to try playing PTTD.

It looks good, can you tell me precisely which one it is? We have several that look like that.

james: thanks a lot! very good ones. The only thing they have left to do is to add a bit more texturing, but the shading is ok.
However I noted a couple of problems with colors, check them out please:
* The camello MU has a bit of one tone of orange that is not present in the palette. The passenger car in the - view has a line of color over the windows that is out of the palette and is only present there, check it out.
* I noted that you are using pure white in some parts, mostly for the AVE (color 255,255,255) You should not use this for white, but the next tone in the scale.
About the texturing I'll PM you soon a few tips about how to do it.
But very good work overall
krtaylor: that's the 100 series AVE, what james just did.
Also, I'm now gathering information about passenger cars in the skyscrapper forums. That will be useful to know which liveries to use within which years. Also they have been checking the tracking table; pointed out a few details to be corrected and will provide some missing technical data for a couple of locomotives.
As soon as that is done, I'll ask about the diesels.
When I'm finished with the information about passenger cars liveries, I'll post it here. By the way, maybe we will be needing the old wooden cars from the US set: there were very similar ones in Spain, and seem to habe been in use not so long ago. I hope we can borrow them in case they were really used and we decide to insert them.
