Almost an head to head collision; They stopped 4 meters from eachother, one train had 100 passengers the other one 15.

Yesterday I had to get from Amstenrade in Limburg to Schiphol airport in time for check-in for a 9.45AM flight. Managed to catch a train from Heerlen at 5.21 to Eindhoven, and then change at Eindhoven for a Schiphol service. It was my first time using any railway outside of the UK, and I don't speak Dutch, but I'm pleased to say I managed it completely hassle-free. The trains I saw all looked really interesting and everything ran like clockwork. A big thumbs-up for Dutch Railways (or the NS at least)!

Haha you're most welcome. Surely not actually one of the engineers on either of those trains though?

Saying that, I did notice a lot more staff around than you see on any British train.

Well normally there are lot's of complaints about the clockworks but as Chevy once told me:

Engineers are allways driving that way.
Not to keep up the scedule, but for a couple of minutes more time for a cup of coffee.

Well complaints or no complaints, normally it's not the drivers fault, it's often the system.
But like in any line of work, the system almost always slows progression. :(

LOLWAT! I wasn't expecting that one arriving so early! Looks really sleek. (but also retarded in some way)

The dutch tracks are seeing a lot of new rolling stock lately. Even though I hold a grudge against the Mat '64, I'm a bit worried about the faith of these little noisy b******.

?( No toilet! And where will you pee? At least can you open the doors?
Just in case, always carry with you a 1 1/2 litre water bottle!
A friend of mine got blocked from a heavy rain in the E75 (flooded for a couple of hours): could not even open the doors of his car as the water would come in. So the bottle proved helpful...

Well, if you are a driver you could try to aim at the (open) door.

Passengers: Just stand on the chair and aim right out of the windows (if they can be opened that is.)

Toilets at the stations cost € 0.50
Have fun

Probably not. Nowadays trains seem to rely on airconditioning. But airconditioning doesn't bring in fresh air when it's rather smelly in the train (Sprinters had that in the beginning). Airconditioning only cools the air. I hate non-openable windows :(

I'm curious to the interior of this new LighTTrain, I hope they're not as crappy as the Sprinters.

If the interior is copied from the DB BR425, prepare to cry.
