Thanks!!
And here is the next one. Works as the previous one (the same for all 3 versions, next one should be the same too)

Nice! Is there an intro date for these buildings? I was thinking around 1960.

Ah, yes! I forgot the date!
indeed, 1960 should be fine. Please :D

And the last one is ready too!
This one is smaller, so it shoud appear in an intermediate zone (not downtown, but not outskirts)

And a new feature too! Finally we won't be ashamed of building the "company owner statue" and we will have something else more appropiate:
The Transport Safety Shrine. It is common to see those around Japan, actually many times they are only a small sanctuary to pray, and you can find it in the middle of the most populated streets in downtown; or even in the rooftops of some buildings.
So the idea is that you finnanciate the construction of one of these shrines, thus upgrading your popularity among citizens.
I think that it looks better than a 50 mts. high statue of a man in a tuxedo...

with the previous reports and these new additions, the v1.0 of the buildings can be done.

Also, I have sent a message to gl2 with a new version of the new faces sprites. Also the trains GRF is being polished, only a slight detail was left to be done.

Beautiful! I have a day off tommorow (Public holliday, Bad for me, I don't get paid for public holidays, b****** changed the terms of the contract on me... :( ), so I'll get this all done and polished off.

Lookin' good, Sanchimaru! You have been a sprite producing machine. 8)

Was playing around with this set the other day. High fives to everyone involved! Between this set, the US set, and Canadian set, I am a very happy TT'er, indeed.

Question, though: when are you guys going to give Mr. Powers the okay to release his Japan scenerio? It was a little wierd seeing cherry blossums and Torii gates in Buffalo, NY. :P

Cheers!

The original idea was to release it designed for the Japanset buildings, and those aren't all coded, so he can't design his beautiful cities properly. And of course the Japanese trains aren't quite finished, though I hear good news on that front.

Well, he can techincally start now, all my future versions of the japanset buildings will be compatible with each other, but I had to make some rather big changes to Szappy's code to get it past the 'roughed in' stage to the 'playable set' stage. I suppose me and Szappy just take different approaches, I try to make polished .grf's, even with very few pieces of art for the set, while it seems he was just trying to rough in all the sprites, and then do one big cleanup and polish afterwards.

But either way, he should be able to start now, but it'd probably be good to wait for my upcoming release with these new residential buildings.

Yes, that's what I thought. The smaller residential buildings are needed to do nice neighborhoods.

Here be snowy shinkansen tracks. They just looked too imaculate above the snowline. Like a retired man's driveway in the winter, removing flakes the second they fall. Enough metaphore, here they are:

Are the crossings correct? Seems like some of them are missing their tracks.

The junctions missing the tracks are correct, as TTD will draw the tracks onto it at runtime. ;)

Yep, I just took the sprites out of the Japan Set .png, and pasted the snow from the magni-lev (?) tracks over top. I reckon these were the snowy tracks, as there was snow on the slopes, just not on the tracks.

Well, the tracking site is updated with them, anyway. And this is why I do like to have a tracking site - it's a useful backup in case of computer disasters on the part of artists and coders.

Finally! snow for shinkansen tracks! thanks, lifeblood :D

at long last, I got the time to work on the trees. This version should look better, the colors are darkened.

Also, using the base of the castle, I made a version of the slopes supports.

krtaylor: update this, and the roads I posted in Aegir's thread too, please.

Well, well... unless some error is found and it has to be worked, with this we have the first basic set ready. Once it's coded, v1.0 can be released.

There is much to be done yet to reach the total conversion; but what we have now will make a nice release.

Future plans:

> new industries
> new bridges
> snow buildings and trees
> new station tiles for passengers and freight
> special stations (Mojiko, Kyoto...)

But that is to be done later... for the moment I'll either take a rest on graphics or keep working in the Spain set 8)

And we would want to use the Dutch version, I think.

The user could use whatever catenery they want, it's not a hard-coded thing.

My special skill is remembering where all those sprites are hidden on forums and in PM's and whatnot ;).

And cheers for those sprites, Sanchimaru, yet more sprites for the folder :D.

Righto, cheers for that, Krtaylor. I've used it in the meanwhile to grab Zimmlocks contributions from it, while I await a response to the PM I sent him.
