Thank God you're still here, Tok - I thought this area of the project had just been abandoned.
I think we need to get our heads together and start producing stuff that can actually be used in the game - you're free to download anything I've done and mess around with it.
Edit - Fukking good music, by the way.

I wrote a piano-and-vocals solo piece in a progressive rock style.
Not really sure if it suits the game's theme though...
Anyway, here's something I composed for my Music coursework for school. Could be used, could not be.

Piano part: On the software I'm using it's quite hard to change the volume of different parts, and it should be placed lower in the mix than it is at the moment. It's supposed to be like the piano equivalent of a rhythm guitar.Arathorn wrote:Sounds good, but the piano-ish part is a bit annoying (maybe too present) and the intro should be some shorter.
Intro: The song is actually an impressionist piece about a hurricane. The first part (before everything except the bass and synth drops out) is the first half of the hurricane, and the quiet bit is the eye in the middle. The reason the drums come in for the second half is because people always say the second half of a storm is worse than the first. And because the wind will be blowing in the opposite direction at this point, I reversed the melody. Clever, eh?
Tokartta: How annoying is it when that happens? I've lost a couple of pieces of Music coursework that way.
Bleh. I'll do that Ambient thing later this week. Speaking of ambient things, my *proper* contributions will be my trance songs made into ambient floaty things. SC3k springs to mind.
Because I was angry at myself for not saving, I unleashed by bass sequence skills and did something a bit more hard: http://www.tokartta.co.uk/audio/Deep_Trance_Idea.mp3
And if anyone wants to have a go at remixing Ascension, I can supply an FL Studio (4.5.1) .flp file. PM if interested.

This is a sort of duet for acoustic and electric piano. I envisage it being used for arctic or temperate settings.

Best ambient thing I've done, I reckon. Its not the same ambient thing that I started and lost before, but its something I started from scratch yesterday.
I apologise for it being 'those' chords again - This all started from one 4 minute keyboard playing session, and my fingers tend to default to this chord structure.
Arctic, anyone?

Well, i thought i could do some music for the game also
You already know this song very well, it's the intro song of TT. But recorded with real guitars and stuff this time. Would sound fresh if you're bored of the midi version of the song.
This is just a trial recording, and it's a 30 second excerpt. I could record the whole song with a much better recording quality, if wanted.
What do you think?

Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Is that you playing guitar in it?
Edit - I was hunting around on my hard drive and found this - Right-click and Save Target As - it's sort of oriental, and I seem to remember was based on me fukking with guitar and drum samples on Music 2000 then cobbling them together into something decent.
