Very good initiative! I"d suggest, if possible, means so that people could comment on the uploads. Eg: someone posts a junction, then other person might want to suggest improvements, and it can be discussed.

That's an idea, but I would recommend posting a link on these forums and discussing it here. Then we keep all discussions about openttd in one place.

Can someone post the copy-paste patch to the exchange, or else can someone post a link to it here?

Okies i put a rating system on the front page, will slowly move across to the other pages as i update them.

I have also made the input boxes a different colour and bordered. I am sorry to the people who were using the site for the poor colour scheme (the problem was my PC's default bg colour is a blue so it looked fine to me). I actually found it amazing anyone could figure out where the boxes were :P

I will also be Upgrading to a bunch more categories e.g The recently finished openttd title screen contest, perhaps a scenario part. So if something breaks whilst your using the site just wait about 10 mins and should be fixed as i will be working on the live version (easier then using the dev version and porting it).

As for comments on the tracks, I have several ideas, this forum is using what looks to be a fairly old phpbb system which would mean in theory i could automate a thread creation process. So if a user feels that a track is worth talking about they click a link and it would start a thread (but would need the tt-forums admins approval for that) I could however just implement a basic commenting system if that falls through.

Just let me know what you think.

And hopefully before bedtime i will get everything to png.

The boxes weren't that hard to find despite being invisible...
All you had to do was click to the right of the text describing it and you'd eventually get the textbox cursor...
EDIT: Quick glances indicate the following:
Helpful Bits has reverted to Helpfull
All of our CopyPaste stuff is in the wrong section now.
What's the point of the regular (Non-CP) section?
Comments N/A everywhere because comment functionality appears to be non-existent.

Helpful fixed again.
Don't worry copy and paste stuff will be moved and the old sections removed. Comments are not yet implemented because as in the post above I'm not sure how people would want it.

It needs to have an option to remember who you are... It can get quite annoying, having to log in every time...

To-do list.
Cookies so it can remember login details between sessions.
Browse so you can browse just one section (if your not interested in scenarios etc)
Create Edit and Delete buttons for users posts.
Might change front page to Most Recent/Most Popular.
Comments

Thanks for your quality input jaybud4.

Also I get an error when I tried to upload something in Firefox. Going to try IE to see if it's just incompatible with FF or if this is perhaps something with the upload system.

Code: Select all

Column count doesn't match value count at row 1
And the Description text on upload page is a blue very close to the background of the boxes, makes it slightly hard to read.
EDIT: Yep, it's an uploader issue. I couldn't upload in IE either. Same message.

Alright, everything's looking good and working now.
Although the four scenarios sections and the two title screen ones don't have anything in them yet...

I get a error when attempting to download a file...something along the lines of a MySQL error.

Sometimes you need to wait for the file, like 7 seconds or so.
will investigate.

***Edit fixed waiting issue.

Otherwise what file exactly?

***any more problems observed let me know.

There is a savegame I created in the past... with lots of stuff in it...
you may want to have a look at... -> http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=25512

Great site! I will use it lots I'm sure. One suggestion... A space for savegames. I'm always interested in what others are up to. I like to look at the work other are doing and I love to hunt for useful tips for rail networks..

Thanks again for the site!
