DudeWheresMyTank wrote:i think AI pays for construction. The funniest is when you see the AI build 1 airport, and then spend years trying to landscape a 2nd site for a 2nd airport. They'll have a plane sitting at the first airport gathering maintenance costs and eventually run out of money and go bankrupt

The AI really needs to be able to level land between point A and B between where it wants to go. If 1 elevation doesn'tn work, it should try another. That would be much more efficient than randomly altering land levels until it can build an unnecessary coil through it
I have always wondered about why it sets full load on its planes in 1950.
It never get filled up - so they go bankrupt, and sold to me for £1. Then I've got at free plane and airports (often a bit odd located outside towns). Realtively well working.

I guess this would be a bit easier to fix this issue...

As far as I'm aware, Sawyer implemented the AI as a last thought - TT was more or less ready, and he added the Ai very much as a last minute job. Not only was Ai not very developed anyway at that time, but he didn't spend all that long programming it, which explains it's current useless form.

However, it can be quite funny to use - try making a large, mountainous map, letting the AI have the run of the place for 50 years or so, then try building your own routes around it!

Um... OK.

My irony detector is going wild, but it's probably broken. Good thing I keep a box of spares.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Well, presumably there are worse playing games of the type... Transport Giant didn't even have an AI, did it? (can't remember - someone borrowed my copy several years ago and I've not seen it since)

Admittedly, the field of "games like TT" is fairly small though...

 The horrror! Lucky I always played LoMo without AI. It's not only stupid but also unfair IMO to claim pieces of land before something was even build on it.

Just horrible!

Or we just wait:

I always disable AI (no competitors); much more realistic seeing as i don't have any friends...
